Exercise and Baby Tears

A praise from last week's post: Troy was able to fix our car with no money spent!!

This week has been filled with fun exercise with friends, baby tears, and family. Thankfully the fun and tears were unrelated :-) I was able to go on a walk with a friend and our kids and then Troy and I were able to go on a hike a few days later with the same friend and her family. It was nice to be outside and get some exercise....which I have been sadly lacking. Often people tell me to stop saying I need to exercise and lose weight because they think I look fine. Sure, there are some things I wish were different with how I look, but that's not why I say it. Yes, the baby weight is gone, but I had wanted to get rid of those stubborn 5ish pounds before that. For me it's not about losing weight just to lose weight, but about knowing what weight I feel my best at. Physically I am out of shape, my lungs scream at me doing the simplest of things, so no haters! :-)

The baby tears have made this week interesting to say the least. My adorable baby girl is officially starting to get her first tooth! (took long enough!) This has made her fussier and more clingy this week than normal....which makes getting things done interesting....or just impossible. You still can't see her tooth but the skin has broken and it should be showing soon :-) The other reason for tears was her sleep schedule. Starting at 6 weeks old she would sleep through the night....and then at 6 months it stopped. She began to wake up every night, which I let her do because she was hungry. Then it became a pattern, a pattern that it was time to break. So two nights ago it was time to let her cry it out when she woke up. I went in at the beginning so she knew I was still there, and then let her cry. It actually wasn't too bad. She cried every 5-10 minutes for about an hour and then fell asleep. And last night she didn't wake up!! We shall see if this is a pattern that will continue or if another "cry night" is in my future tonight.

Some other happenings:

We were also blessed to have some family stay with us this week. My sister was here for a night, and my parents for another night!

I stocked up on baby food....meaning I made a bunch :-) I now have a freezer with pinto beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, carrots, squash, and corn all ready for my baby girl. If you want to know how I make it or how I freeze it post a comment or send me a message....it is really is easy, fast, and cheap!
