As I mentioned last week, I have begun to get my be-hind
kicked three mornings a week. This resulted in some very sore days…and not just
in my be-hind J I
guess it was my own fault though, I went running on the days in between, and
worked out all weekend (and when I say all
I mean once a day every day J),
so that didn’t help the soreness factor all that much. It has felt really good
to get back to exercising (and by back I mean start to begin with. I was one of
the lucky ones that never had to exercise
before having a baby; I just moseyed along in life being decently skinny and in
shape, this is most definitely no longer the case). But, the point being that I am enjoying
exercise (yes, I may have brain damage to think it is enjoyable) which is
something I wasn’t sure would ever happen. I always enjoyed doing things like
hikes, throwing balls around etc., but exercise for the sake of exercise? Yup,
crazy me. I highly suggest it to all of you out there. The key is to find
something you really enjoy to get you started and then either continue it or, as
in my case if it is too expensive, find alternatives that are cheap (aka free)
once you are hooked on exercising. I am starting the couch to 5k program on my
running days. You are supposed to take walk breaks! No more being mad at myself
for having to stop and walk J
Maybe it’s an age thing? All of a sudden liking weird things…
like exercise, and not minding dishes as much, and cleaning boogers off of baby
faces….yup, it’s official, this birthday has made me old. (Don’t you love my
transitions? Now we get to talk about my birthday! ...yes, I am in a weird mood
today, thank you for asking! …and yes, there is a screaming baby in the next
room that does not want to take her nap because she happened to fall asleep in
the car for 2 minutes today). Anyways. The actual birthday day was not all that
spectacular (except for the birthday phone calls J).
Little miss cutie patootie decided that mommy’s birthday would be celebrated by
being sick. The only good thing about that was that she was willing to cuddle
in the morning instead of attempting to be the biggest wiggle worm ever. I’m
okay with birthday cuddles! Thankfully, hubby and I had celebrated the night
before as he was working the night shift that night. Sometimes hints of the not
so subtle sort are needed in order for him to get the idea that I want to do
something special, but he is amazing once the “hint” is received J This is what he came
up with instantaneously: We waited for
the goober to go to bed and then cooked dinner together. We actually got out a
tablecloth and candles and made it look all pretty (especially with the flowers
he surprised me with J).
He also dug through the hard drives and found our wedding reception music and had
that playing. We got all dressed up (well, I spent 17 minutes throwing
something nice on, making my hair look decent, and putting mascara on…it counts
right?) and then had a candlelit dinner and dancing. He also got me a small
container of ice cream, just enough to be yummy without killing my new exercise
kick J
Yup, bestest hubby ever! Sorry girls! I was totally going to post pictures but I forgot the camera card and home, and it isn't worth going to get....sometimes life without internet at home can be annoying! Ah well, you get pictures next week...hopefully!
The rest of the week was filled with more sick baby, more
exercise, and a fun movie night with most of hubby’s brothers.
Here’s my encouragement for the week: Get out and do something
active, even if it is just taking a short walk each day, you will feel better
about yourself and the rest of your day!
